Wildfire Protection in Verdugo Woodlands West
Zone Zero
If you moved here because you love the natural surroundings of the Woodlands, please watch this important presentation about how our tree canopy can protect your home in a fire.
Cal Fire has designated all of Verdugo Woodlands West as a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone. The California Board of Forestry and Fire Protection has delayed finalizing the Zone Zero regulations that would force Verdugo Woodlands residents to remove more tha 30% of our tree canopy. However, the Board still anticipates that enforcement of the regulations will take effect around 2029.
Find out what you can do to protect your home. Watch the recording (below) of our NA Zoom, presented by Glendale Fire Marshal Foster McLean on July 6, 2022, for details on:
Home hardening against wildfire
Vegetation management
Goat grazing to control hillside vegetation
Brush inspection requirements
This presentation focuses on Glendale and the Woodlands after a brief overview of wildfires. Please see the contact information below the video.
